The font rushes forth from a well

that I thought had run dry

long ago.

It was never really dry

but I had damned it

with the walls I built

to protect my heart.

The flood has loosed,

and even now settles,

becoming a current

that flows deep and strong,

nourishing the seeds that were sown

in the fertile soil

of my soul.
