Just Wondering

I watch the young people
Walking around the campus
Cell phones pressed to their ears
And I wonder...
How is it that they can hear
Anything at all?

Help

Excuse me, what does it mean “Anything at all”? I don't succeed to translate….
Well, this doesn't translate literally into Italian. I'll try to do a meaningful translation.
The first line would be: Osservo i ragazzi (osservare as opposed to guardare)
The second and third lines are simple translation.
The fourth line would be: Mi chiedo… (because to wonder, in this sense, is to ask oneself)
The fifth line would be: Come possono ascoltare (more than sentire, like to receive information, to sense, or prestare attenzione)
The last line would be like: Qualsiasi cosa?
Or the last two lines could be a statement:
Non prestano attenzione
a proprio niente. {I'm not so sure about the translation here, but I think you'll understand the meaning. :-) }
Can I translate the last three lines by “Io mi domando come loro possano prestare attenzione a niente?”
Is it right?
Yes, I think so. Thanks!
:) Ok.
Thanks to you :)
Very nice. I can relate. Poor kids…
Sometimes the call of source sounds like a Fergie ring tone. :)
LOL! Touche'!
