The Path
Life is like finding a path
that appears only once you've taken a step forward.
You have a flashlight in your hand,
but the light illuminates the path
only a small distance ahead of where you are.
If you try really hard,
you can see just a little way beyond the circle of illumination,
but not clearly,
so you have to trust
your light
your feet
and

Thanks, guys. The thumb in the picture is mine, and the little guy perched on it was drinking grapefruit juice! He had landed on my peeled grapefruit that was sitting on the kitchen counter, and when I tried to scoop him up to put him outside he decided to take the opportunity to drink the grapefruit juice off of my thumb. It was a beautiful reminder of how precious even the tiniest life is, and how much joy it can bring to just stop and appreciate the very moment in which you find yourself. To just be exactly where you are. Life is sweet. :)
